Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, July 28, 2020 – Elbit Systems of Australia (ELSA) is pleased to announce Major General (Retd) Paul McLachlan AO, CSC as the new Managing Director of ELSA effective 10 July 2020.
“I am honoured to become the next Managing Director for Elbit Systems of Australia,” said Paul, “With the team, I am looking forward to continuing the diversification of our business and delivering state of the art digitised command and control capability to the Australian Army.”
Dan Webster is stepping down after leading the company for the past 7 years however will maintain close links with ELSA as he transitions to become a non-executive Director on the Board.
Major General (Retd) Paul McLachlan joined ELSA in April 2019 bringing with him extensive operational, managerial and business experience as well as a passion and vision for digitised command and control systems. Paul McLachlan has been leading the Australian Army digital transformation from within the ADF for the past 8 years, as Head of Land Systems in CASG and as Commander 1st Division. In the past year, as an Executive Director in ELSA, he has been deeply involved in the company’s strategic direction and business operations. Under Paul McLachlan’s leadership, ELSA will continue to build on its strong reputation of delivering sophisticated software technology to support command decision making in the military environment, as well as introduce cutting edge technology to the emergency services and civil sectors.
